Rangers defender Connor Goldson insists that the Gers will not lose any motivation or determination to beat Celtic when the two sides next meet in the Old Firm derby.

The penultimate match of the domestic season for the Gers will be against their bitter rivals at Ibrox on 12th May.

The last time the two sides met the match ended in a 2-1 scoreline in favour of the defending champions at Celtic Park at the end of last month.

Tempers flared in the Old Firm meeting, with Rangers having Alfredo Morelos and Andy Halliday sent off.

When Rangers next take on Celtic, they will be expected to have wrapped up the Scottish Premiership title.

But Rangers' motivation will not be dented, or increased due to the loss last month, Goldson says, with the Gers always wanting to beat their rivals.

"I don't think there is an added determination [to win the next one] because you go in to every single Old Firm with the same determination and same motivation to every game for this football club", Goldson was quoted as saying by STV.

"I think that the boys done themselves proud in the second half, but at the same time, when you lose the game, it is hard.

"It would've been hard for Celtic when they lost at our place, it's just the rivalry and the atmosphere that you get in those big games that when you are on the losing side it does hurt.

"So we will go in to the next one with the same motivation and determination to win the game."

Rangers will end their season with an away match against Kilmarnock on 19th May.
