Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has indicated that there is still a chance of Liverpool linked Thorgan Hazard staying at the club.

The winger is preparing to leave the Bundesliga outfit in the summer and has a number of clubs on his tail ahead of the end of the season.

Liverpool have been linked with an interest in the Belgian, but Borussia Dortmund are believed to be in pole position to sign the player by the end of the summer transfer window.

However, major differences still exist between Gladbach and Dortmund over the potential transfer fee.

BVB are not willing to offer more than €25m at the moment, but Gladbach have continued to stick to their €40m asking price.

Eberl conceded that the club depend on transfer revenue, but at the moment he is not too worried about not reaching a deal to sell Hazard.

The Gladbach sporting director told German daily Bild: “If it doesn’t happen by the end, then next season we will have a top player with us.

“Of course, we rely on transfer revenue at Borussia Monchengladbach, but if we can keep a top player then that is not wrong.

“That’s why I am relaxed.”

Hazard will enter the final year of his contract with Gladbach this summer.
