Manchester United star Ashley Young feels confident the Red Devils will bounce back from their defeat at Everton and be ready for the derby against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday in the Premier League.

The Red Devils failed to make the full use of the defeats suffered by all of their other top four rivals, as they slumped to another worrying performance in recent weeks.

And now they will play two crucial and high-octane fixtures in the space of a few days in the Premier League with both Manchester City and Chelsea visiting Old Trafford this week.

Manchester United are set to host their rivals in the derby on Wednesday and Young feels confident about the team picking themselves up after the defeat at Everton, just in time for the meeting with Manchester City.

“We've just got to apologise to the fans and we've got a tough one coming up on Wednesday with the Manchester derby”, Young told the club’s official website.

“We know how important that's going to be.

"If you can't get yourselves up for the Manchester derby, there's something wrong.

“I've got confidence that we're going to be ready for Wednesday.

"It's a disappointing day today but we've got to dust ourselves down fairly quickly and go again this week.”

Manchester United are currently sixth in the league table after securing 64 points from their 34 games.
