Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, who is also a key target for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been attracting serious interest from several club clubs ahead of the summer transfer window and Sampdoria will sell for the right price.

AC Milan have been keeping tabs on the Dane, but Tottenham are the ones who have been putting in major legwork to be ready to sign Andersen.

Tottenham have already met Sampdoria officials to discuss Andersen’s possible transfer and are tipped to move if, as expected, Toby Alderweireld leaves.

But now Tottenham have major competition from Spain, as according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Atletico Madrid are also very much in the race to sign the Denmark defender.

The Spanish giants are set to lose Diego Godin in the summer and are in the market for at least one centre-back.

And it seems Andersen has emerged as a possible target for Los Colchoneros.

The Dane has a contract until 2022 with Sampdoria and recently broke into the Denmark national squad.
