Former Scotland international Barry Ferguson believes there will be a significant turnover of players at Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Celtic, now under Neil Lennon, are on course to complete an historic treble treble, having already picked up the Scottish League Cup and run away at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Bhoys' rivals Rangers have hogged the headlines in terms of transfers, with talk over what Steven Gerrard must do to help the Gers overhaul Celtic next season.

But Ferguson believes Celtic are just as much in need of serious squad surgery and he is predicting a busy window at Celtic Park.

"All the talk is about Rangers and how they are going to buy and bring in", Ferguson said on PLZ Soccer.

"I think Celtic are in the same scenario.

"I think there's going to be a lot of movement there in the summer, players going and players coming in.

"I think it's the end for some of these players and Celtic need freshening up."

Celtic have a number of players on short-term loan deals, such as Jeremy Toljan, Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah, while a number of other Bhoys stars are approaching the end of their respective contracts.
