Nice Plot Move To Keep Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur Target At Club

Nice are preparing to try and keep hold of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur target Youcef Atal.

The Algeria international is a man in demand and has interest from a host of Europe's biggest clubs, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Inter and Tottenham Hotspur.

Atal is not pushing to leave Nice and has declared his happiness at the Ligue 1 side, but bids are still expected to flood in for his services in the summer.

Nice are not about to give up Atal easily though and, according to Algerian magazine Le Buteur, are planning to offer him a new contract.

The defender has a contract with Nice that runs until 2023, but is paid around €30,000 per month.

The sum puts Atal some way down Nice's list of highest earners.

And the Ligue 1 side are plotting to offer the defender a big pay rise to make sure that they keep hold of him over the course of the summer transfer window.

Atal is expected to be in action for Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations over the summer, when he could further increase his reputation.
