Inter are preparing to include players in negotiations to sign Chelsea and Manchester United target Nicolo Barella during the summer transfer window.

Barella’s future at Cagliari has been under the microscope since January when he eventually decided to spend the rest of the season at his current club.

He is tipped to leave the Italian club this summer and several clubs in Serie A and in Europe are plotting to secure his signature in the coming months.

Chelsea have long been keeping tabs on him and nearly signed him in January, while Manchester United have also reportedly joined chase ahead of the end of the season.

Inter have also been mulling a move for the midfielder and, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, they are laying down strategies before approaching Cagliari.

The Nerazzurri do not want to meet Cagliari’s valuation, believed to be between €40m to €45m, for the player and are waiting to see whether they drop their demands.

The Serie A giants are also prepared to loan out players to Cagliari as part of the deal in order to beat off competition for Barella.

The midfielder is also believed to be keen to continue in Italy despite interest from foreign clubs.
