Inter have been in talks with the agent of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku in order to work out a deal to sign the Belgian, it has been claimed.

Lukaku has been linked with a potential exit from Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to reshape his squad.

The Belgian has indicated that he would consider moving to Italy and Inter have come forward as the main contenders to land the striker in the coming months.

He is Inter’s number one attacking target and, according to Italian outlet FcInterNews.it, they are in touch with his new agent, Federico Pastorello, in order to work out an agreement.

The Nerazzurri are aware of the financial enormity of a possible agreement and are working on scenarios to make sure that the deal is feasible for all parties.

They are prepared to offer a fee in the region of €70m to €80m to Manchester United in order to snare Lukaku away from Old Trafford.

The Belgian currently earns around €10m net per year and while Inter cannot match his wages, they have prepared a lucrative contract.

The Serie A giants are prepared to offer him a five-year contract worth €7.5m plus bonuses, which would make him the highest paid player at the club.

Antonio Conte, who has been linked with becoming the next Inter coach, also wants to work with Lukaku.
