Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in the rapidly approaching summer transfer window.

Trapp is currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt and is likely to return to PSG at the end of the season to fight for a place in the team next season.

However, with Gianluigi Buffon and Alphonse Areola already at the club, there are concerns whether he will get an opportunity to feature in the first team at the Parc des Princes.

PSG are keen to offer the German a new contract, but it has been claimed every possible scenario is on the table regarding the goalkeeper’s future.

According to French outlet Paris United, Newcastle have emerged as possible suitors for Trapp ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rafael Benitez wants to strengthen his squad and having one more strong goalkeeping option is believed to be on his agenda.

Super-agent Pini Zahavi is claimed to be able to take the German to the north east of England during the summer transfer window.
