Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo has an offer on his table to join Manchester City this summer, it has been claimed.

Pep Guardiola wants to make more additions to a Manchester City squad that has won back-to-back Premier League titles, becoming the first team to do so since Manchester United in 2010.

The Manchester City boss is desperate to bring in a long term replacement for Fernandinho and has identified Rodrigo as the player he wants this summer.

Atletico Madrid do not want to sell but Manchester City are prepared to trigger the €70m release clause in his contract to snare him away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

And according to Spanish daily AS, the Premier League champions have also tabled a contract offer to convince the player to move to the Etihad in the coming months.

If he is ready to accept the offer then he will become a Manchester City player as the club will pay his buy-out clause.

Rodrigo remains uncertain on whether he wants to leave and has several other clubs vying for his signature.
