Celtic boss Neil Lennon has heaped praise on new signing Maryan Shved and believes Bhoys fans will love watching the Ukrainian in action.

The eight-time Scottish champions signed Shved from Karpaty Lviv in the winter transfer window, snapping him up.

Upon signing the player, Celtic sent him the promising winger back on loan to Karpaty Lviv to see out the remainder of the campaign.

After capping off the season with 15 goals and three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, Shved has now flown to Glasgow to kick-start his Bhoys career.

The 21-year-old was a force to be reckoned with in the Ukraine, but settling in at a new club can often turn out to be a daunting affair, especially a new club in a foreign country.

His manager Lennon, however, has already been won over by the player's abilities and feels sorry that he cannot use Shved in the final two games of the season.

Speaking in a press conference, Celtic boss Lennon said: "We, unfortunately, can’t use him, but he’s a very exciting player.

"He’s done brilliant things in Ukraine, and looked right at home yesterday amongst his new team-mates at training.

"Again, he’s an exciting prospect to look forward to next year.

"He can beat players, good left foot, strong, quick, and he’s creative too.

"He’s the type of player we enjoy here at Celtic."

After hosting Hearts in their final Premiership game of the season on Sunday afternoon, Celtic will meet the Jambos in the Scottish Cup final on 25th May.
