Napoli are ready to put in a cash plus player bid for West Ham United target Duvan Zapata this summer, it has been claimed.

Zapata has emerged as a hot name in the transfer market after scoring 22 goals in Serie A this season and has been on the radar of several clubs.

Inter are said to be keen on signing him, but the club are reportedly not prepared to meet Atalanta’s €40m asking price for the 28-year-old striker.

West Ham have also been on his trail since the January window and are considering taking him to England as part of their plans to revamp their forward line.

But Zapata continues to generate interest within Italy and, according to Italian daily Tuttosport, Napoli are preparing to make a move for the player.

While he is not Carlo Ancelotti’s first choice target, the Napoli coach is interested in signing the Colombian and the Serie A giants are plotting a bid.

Napoli are ready to put in an offer of around €20m and send Roberto Inglese to Atalanta as part of the deal to sign Zapata.

However, it is unclear whether Atalanta would be open to agree such a deal or continue to insist on demanding the price they want for the striker this summer.
