Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has admitted that a host of clubs are interested in snapping up highly-rated midfielder Eljif Elmas, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Macedonia international has been a bright spot in an otherwise miserable season for Fenerbahce, with the club on course for a mid-table finish in the Turkish Super Lig.

Lazio have had a bid turned down for Elmas, while Atletico Madrid, Inter, Manchester City, Manchester United, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund are now listed as suitors.

Premier League side Tottenham have also been linked with Elmas and in a sign of how fierce the scramble for the midfielder might be, Koc has confirmed big interest in his player.

"Currently there are a lot of teams interested in Eljif", Koc was quoted as saying by Turkish daily Hurriyet.

"However, we do not have to sell Eljif.

"If necessary, we will keep him for a further year."

Fenerbahce's asking price for Elmas is claimed to be set at the €20m mark and it remains to be seen if any of his suitors are prepared to put that sum on the table.

The 19-year-old joined Fenerbahce in 2017.
