Manchester United have put negotiations for Christian Eriksenon hold as they believe the Tottenham Hotspur star favours a move to Spain, according to the BBC.

Eriksen has emerged as a target for Manchester United late in the window and the club have been keen to see whether Tottenham are prepared to let him move to Old Trafford.

The Dane is out of the contract at the end of next season and Tottenham are desperate to sell him this summer in order to eliminate the risk of losing him for nothing next year.

Manchester United have been exploring the possibility of signing the midfielder for a cut-price deal from Tottenham before Thursday’s Premier League transfer deadline.

But it has been claimed that the negotiations have been halted as the club are not sure Eriksen wants to join them.
