Former Premier League goalkeeper Shay Given believes that Callum Hudson-Odoi is back to where the Chelsea fans think he should be.

Hudson-Odoi left Chelsea only last summer and after finding his chances limited initially, is showing the Nottingham Forest fans what he has to offer.

In 16 league appearances so far, the Chelsea academy graduate has made six goal contributions and has scored in each of the Tricky Trees’ last three games.

Given has been left impressed by the performances of Hudson-Odoi, who he believes is really enjoying his football at this moment.

The former Premier League goalkeeper went on to insist that the 23-year-old has reached the levels Chelsea fans wanted him to be at.

“I think they were very strong down the left side with Nuno Tavares and Callum Hudson-Odoi, they were on fire today”, Given said on the BBC following Forest’s win over West Ham.

“[Vladimir] Coufal and [Jarrod] Bowen couldn’t deal with these guys.

“They were super fast on the left side.

“Tavares is a really offensive full-back and he’s got this partnership going with Hudson-Odoi, who looks like he’s really enjoying his football at the moment.

“He’s back to where Chelsea fans think he should be.”

Hudson-Odoi was away on loan at Bayer Leverkusen last season but did not find much success in terms of goals, making just two goal contributions in 21 appearances overall.

The former England international’s goal against West Ham at the weekend was able to help Nuno Espirito Santo’s side register their first win in the last five games.
