Tony Dorigo has urged Leeds United to enjoy the challenge of taking on Chelsea away from home in the FA Cup tonight and insisted that the favourites do not necessarily win all the time.

Leeds have won their last nine Championship games on the trot and are sitting second in the league table at the moment.

Their confidence is high but they are facing a tough task in playing a Premier League team of Chelsea’s quality in the FA Cup tonight at Stamford Bridge.

Dorigo insisted that it is not an easy game to predict as while Chelsea are favourites, they are coming into the game on the back of a demoralising EFL Cup final defeat in extra time on Sunday.

He is keen to see Leeds embrace the challenge and enjoy the occasion as they face a Premier League challenge on the road tonight.

The former Leeds star took to X and wrote: “Back at the Bridge tonight for a tasty FA Cup tie – Chelsea v Leeds United – although due to a tough cup loss and fatigue/injuries/priorities, this match-up is hard to read….

“The Blues are favourites, but favourites don’t always win!

“For our Leeds boys, let’s go and enjoy the challenge.”

It remains to be seen whether Daniel Farke fields his strongest eleven in the cup game given their focus is on winning promotion from the Championship.
