Tam McManus believes that Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery will have to find players with the right mentality to kill off games when the summer transfer window opens.

Hibs have finished outside the top six in the Scottish Premiership and face post split fixtures against the bottom six.

The results have put pressure on manager Montgomery, who McManus believes, will have to find solutions in the transfer market this summer.

Pointing towards Hibs’ inability to kill off games this season, McManus insisted that the mentality inside the dressing room has not been right.

The players that come in during the summer will therefore need to have the right mentality to kick Hibernian on under Montgomery, McManus feels.

“I think every club can look back on decisions, maybe VAR decisions, offsides, whatever it is”, McManus said on PLZ Soccer.

“At the end of the day, they have lost so many points from winning positions – and that is just a mentality thing for me.

“That is not the right mentality in that dressing room.

“Nick has got to find players with the right bit of mentality to go and see out games, kill teams off.

“If he doesn’t do that he is going to be under serious pressure at the start of the next season.”

Hibs have failed to win any of their last three league games, even going on to concede in the 94th minute of their last match against Motherwell on Saturday.
