Crystal Palace Under-23s star Luke Dreher feels his team should have beaten Leeds United on Monday, as they created the bulk of the chances.

Richard Shaw’s men played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with North section champions Leeds in the Professional Development League clash at Selhurst Park on Monday.

The Eagles Under-23s came from behind twice to deny Leeds another win, thanks to goals from Dreher and second half substitute Kian Flanagan.

And following their fighting draw at home to the Whites, Dreher has conceded that on another day his team could have scored a few more goals and secured the win over their opponents.

The 20-year-old admitted it was a good game to play in, but insisted he thought Crystal Palace deserved to win as they created the better chances during the entirety of the game.

“Yes, it was good [to be involved in such an entertaining game against Leeds United]”, Dreher told Palace TV.

“They’re a good side, I think they are top of the league so obviously, we knew coming into it that it’s going to be a good side, we knew what they were about, they like to press you, like to get in your face.

“It was a good game, there were lots of chances and I thought the boys did well. [I] thought on the balance of it we should’ve won it.

“But we created more chances, quite a few clear-cut chances, which on another day we could have scored a few more, but it was a good game to play in.”

Crystal Palace, who are currently third in the Professional Development League South table, will next face Watford at home on Thursday.
