Liverpool and Bayern Munich target Hakim Ziyech earns the same at Ajax as Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld earn at Tottenham Hotspur, it has been claimed.
Ziyech shone with Ajax this season, helping the Dutch giants to a league and cup double and a run to the semi-final stage of the Champions League.
His performances have seen a range of clubs linked, including Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund.
Ajax are aware Ziyech is wanted and have given their word that if a good proposal arrives this summer they will not stand in his way.
But Ziyech does not have to move to ensure a big pay packet as, according to Het Parool columnist Henk Spaan, he earns the same money as Vertonghen and Alderweireld do at Tottenham.
Spaan wrote: "Ziyech earns at Ajax what Vertonghen and Alderweireld receive at Spurs. He does not have to go to a team not at the top in England for the money."
Ziyech may still want to quit Ajax in order to test himself in a bigger league than the Dutch Eredivisie.
The Morocco international has an opportunity to further put himself in the shop window over the summer as he is expected to be part of the country's Africa Cup of Nations squad.
Ziyech made 49 appearances for Ajax this season, scoring 21 goals and contributing 24 assists.
He netted five times in Ajax's Champions League campaign.
