Tottenham Hotspur have sacked their head of scouting Ian Broomfield as they push to move towards a more data-driven approach to recruitment, according to the Daily Mail.

Spurs are preparing for a major shift in their recruitment strategy ahead of the summer transfer window.

Broomfield is recognised as one of the best scouts in domestic football and has a long history in player recruitment.

He has been at Tottenham for 15 years in two spells, but the 73-year-old has been told that his services are no longer required.

The Spurs head of scouting is set to leave the club soon as the Premier League side look to change their recruitment style.

Tottenham are set to have a change in direction in the way they are going to sign new players going forward.

Johan Lange, who joined Spurs as their technical director, wants to champion a data-driven approach to recruitment.

Tottenham are modernising their recruitment process and it will see the veteran Broomfield and three other scouts leave the club.
