Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta believes that Cesc Fabregas would fit perfectly into the Catalans’ plans and his arrival would not disrupt what is a well-oiled midfield machine.

With Xavi and Iniesta dictating the play for Barcelona in the middle of the park, it has often been suggested that if Fabregas did make the move from Arsenal to the Camp Nou, then a fate similar to that which greeted Javier Mascherano upon his arrival from Liverpool last summer could be in store – a spot on the bench.

However, Iniesta does not see Fabregas’ potential arrival in that way and believes the Spanish international would only complement what may already be the best midfield in world football.

"[The arrival of Fabregas] is a matter between Arsenal and Barcelona and we [the players] cannot do anything", Iniesta told ONA FM.

"Xavi, Cesc and I are not incompatible.

"If he comes, the team level will be higher."

With a budget of just €45M available (excluding player sales) however, Barcelona cannot snare all their top targets this summer, and the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Udinese appears on the face of it to be a higher priority that once again engaging in a transfer chase for Fabregas.
