Inter will bid to replace Samuel Eto’o with either Dimitar Berbatov or Carlos Tevez if the Cameroonian opts to leave the club for Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Russian Premier League side, that boasts Roberto Carlos in its ranks, have made Eto’o a lucrative offer and the former Barcelona man is believed to be mulling over the prospect of a move east.

It still looks unlikely that the 30-year-old will accept Anzhi’s offer and Eto’o has delighted in his spell with the Nerazzurri thus far.

Inter though are thinking of contingency plans in case the striker does decide that a salary of €20M per year is simply too good to turn down.

And this has brought both Berbatov and Tevez into the mix.

The Nerazzurri are long-standing admirers of Tevez and the collapse of the Argentine’s proposed move to Corinthians caused some at the Italian giants to consider a swoop. The departure of Eto’o would simply intensify that desire.

Out-of-favour Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is another option, with Inter confident they could take the Bulgarian striker from Old Trafford with little fuss.

Nevertheless, Inter do not want to lose Eto’o and remain confident the Cameroonian will ultimately reject Anzhi’s proposal.
