Russian Premier League outfit Anzhi Makhachkala have turned their attention to Inter striker Samuel Eto’o after missing out on Neymar and Nicolas Anelka.

Anzhi have money to spend and are hugely ambitious. Boasting the likes of Roberto Carlos – who recently declared his intention to stay on at the club after retirement to take the role of president -, Mbark Boussoufa and Balazs Dzsudzsak, the Russian outfit have their eyes set on the Champions League.

With Brazilian Diego Tardelli up front, Anzhi are already a powerful attacking unit, but the desire to add another world-class talent lingers on in Dagestan; Anzhi were recently also linked with Raul.

This has caused Anzhi to focus their attention on Inter striker Eto’o, and the Russians are prepared to reward the Cameroonian richly if he agrees to move east.

Anzhi would pay Inter a fee of €30M for Eto’o and pay the striker himself €20M per season.

It is a proposal Eto’o cannot easily dismiss and the former Barcelona forward is believed to be mulling over the offer.
