Dimitar Berbatov’s agent has struck a defiant note over his client’s future, claiming that even if Manchester United sign another striker the 30-year-old will not leave Old Trafford.

United would ship out the Bulgarian if they received a suitable offer and are on the lookout for another world class player to add to their ranks before the transfer window slams shut. Should Sir Alex Ferguson bring in a further striker, Berbatov’s future would look bleak.

But despite his client falling well behind Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez in the pecking order at the English champions, and being completely left out of United’s Champions League final group, Emil Dantchev has blasted suggestions of an exit for the former Tottenham Hotspur man.

Speaking about recent talk that Juventus wanted Berbatov, Dantchev replied to Tutto Mercato: "I don’t want to comment on these rumours.

"The only true thing is that Berbatov is a Manchester United player, he is happy at the club and he won’t move until the end of his contract."

Dantchev was then informed that United are on the lookout for another striker, but was unmoved: "This is not our problem, we’re speaking of a great club that will have multiple attackers."

For United, moving Berbatov, who is highly paid at Old Trafford, off the books before he can walk away for free at the end of his deal, could prove impossible.
