No sooner has Lille sporting director Frederic Paquet insisted that there is no bid on the table for the club’s right-back Mathieu Debuchy, than Newcastle United have submitted a fresh offer.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Lille have just received a new offer from the Magpies for Debuchy – and it is €6M.

Lille have not yet given Newcastle their answer, but the bid is just €1M more than a previous offer from the English Premier League side this summer, which was turned down.

Rudi Garcia’s men are believed to want closer to €8M for the 27-year-old, but Debuchy has been vocal over his desire to leave the northern France side.

Lille have insisted he can depart, but only once an adequate replacement has been signed.

The France international is highly rated by Garcia, who believes it would take quite some time for a replacement to get up to speed and become familiar with Lille’s style of play.

Nevertheless, the odds of Debuchy still being at the 2011 Ligue 1 winners when the summer transfer window closes are slim.

Debuchy is under contract with Lille until 2015.

His departure would be a blow with Garcia having already lost Eden Hazard and Joe Cole this summer.
