In-demand Ryad Boudebouz has insisted he is certain to leave current club Sochaux at the end of the season after they blocked an exit for him this summer.

Boudebouz interested Liverpool earlier in the summer window, admitting that the Anfield club were speaking to his agent, while Newcastle United attempted to do a deal for the winger on transfer deadline day.

And while the English transfer window shut, the French remained open, until last night, leading Marseille to try and pull off a coup by taking the 22-year-old to the Stade Velodrome.

All failed to sign Boudebouz from Sochaux though, with Marseille particularly disappointing the Algerian, having promised that they would sign him, but then backed out at the last minute.

"They have always made me think, since the beginning of the transfer window, that they were going to sign me", the 22-year-old said of Marseille to Algerian daily Le Buteur.

"And then, a few days before the end of the transfer market, they tell me I’m too expensive. Subsequently, they abandoned the negotiations."

Boudebouz is sure though that he will be leaving Sochaux next summer, as his contract is due to expire.

"I will stay at Sochaux, but of course, at the end of the season, I will leave."

Sochaux may however attempt to sell Boudebouz in the January transfer window, to realise at least some value from the young winger.
