Borussia Dortmund are getting serious over trying to lure Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao to Germany.

According to Tutto Mercato, just a few days ago officials from the Ruhr giants met with Damiao’s agent in Germany to attempt to put the wheels in motion to secure the talented Internacional striker.

Dortmund are looking to replace Robert Lewandowski, who has refused to extend his contract, which expires in the summer of 2014, and looks set to be sold before the start of the 2013/14 campaign.

And ever ambitious, Dortmund want to replace the Poland international in style, by buying Damiao.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will not have things all their own way in their pursuit of the Brazil star however, as Damiao does have serious suitors elsewhere.

English Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur pushed hard to sign Damiao in January and are expected to rekindle their interest in the summer.

And in Italy, Napoli have Damiao firmly in their sights as a potential replacement for Edinson Cavani.

Dortmund though have now shown serious intent to snap up the Internacional man.
