Bacary Sagna has taken another step towards the exit door at Arsenal by rejecting a two-year contract extension, according to French daily Le Parisien.

The right-back’s current deal with the Gunners expires in the summer of 2014 and he has been looking to thrash out a new contract with Arsene Wenger’s men.

However, the two-year extension put on the table by Arsenal has been dismissed by Sagna.

It is understood that the 30-year-old is unhappy with the salary which has been offered by the Gunners.

Should Arsenal not come back with a better offer, or Sagna have a change of heart, there is now the real possibility that the France international could leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Sagna is not short of suitors, with a number of Russian and Italian sides leading the chase for his signature.

The defender, who joined Arsenal in the summer of 2007, has made 20 appearances for the club in the Premier League this season.

He has been vocal in his disappointment at the sales of Robin van Persie and Alex Song last summer, believing Arsenal to have damaged their chances of success by cashing in on the pair.
