Wesley Sneijder has opened the door for a possible reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, adding that the possibility of a move away from Galatasaray cannot be completely discounted.

Sneijder joined Inter Milan in 2009 under Mourinho’s reign, and went on to make 116 appearances before a January transfer to Galatasary this year.

Mourinho was appointed Chelsea manager this week on a four-year deal, and is expected to raid his former clubs, including Inter Milan, for players to boost his second stint at Stamford Bridge.

Sneijder, who left Inter under a cloud over wage discussions, may only have spent a few months in Turkey so far, but the chance to once again work alongside his former mentor has appealed to the Holland international.

Sneijder was quoted by Corriere dello Sport as saying: "I have a great relationship with [Mourinho] and in football you never know. But I’m happy in Turkey.

"We stayed in touch ever since Inter. I do not know if Chelsea is looking for a player with my characteristics.

"In football you never know what might happen but I am very happy in Turkey."

Former Ajax and Real Madrid playmaker Sneijder has made 16 appearances for Galatasaray scoring four goals, whilst he has admitted his time at the San Siro left him feeling like the club "tried to destroy me".
