Newcastle remain undeterred in their pusuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the Magpies now interested in a €29m double swoop for the Gabon international as well as his Saint-Etienne team-mate Kurt Zouma.

According to France Football, Newcastle are attempting to woo the duo to St. James’ Park, by pitching a big money €29m for Aubameyang and Zouma respectively.

Newcastle have been defeated before when chasing Aubameyang, as an €18m bid for the star striker was rejected by his club only yesterday.

However, with Borussia Dortmund also joining the race with a €14m bid, Alan Pardew’s side appear keen to up the ante with their double raid.

Aubameyang has been courted by Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain in mainland Europe, whilst Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City joined Newcastle’s chorus from England.

It is understood the player’s representatives have also heard of interest from Russian giants Anzhi Makhachkala, but that the club are more in favour of selling to either of the two Bundesliga representatives.

While Aubameyang has been making waves in Ligue 1 thanks to his 19 goals in 37 games for Saint-Etienne, Zouma has marshalled their defence in the centre.

At just 18 years of age, he has managed 18 appearances for the club, but boasts suitors from Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Dortmund.

He penned a new contract that keeps him at the club until 2017, but it appears Saint-Etienne will face an uphill task of convincing him to keep faith with his current employers.
