Sporting Lisbon winger Bruma, who has been christened in some quarters the "new Cristiano Ronaldo", wants his wages at the Portuguese giants to skyrocket to around the €1m per year mark.

Bruma has picked up a number of admirers over the last six months, something further cemented by his fine performances at the ongoing Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

The 18-year-old has been the subject of a €15m bid from Chelsea (rejected by Sporting Lisbon), where Jose Mourinho is keen to take him to Stamford Bridge, while Manchester City are also in the hunt.

Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho has admitted the club are in a weak position when it comes to holding onto the winger, as his contract expires next summer.

But there appears to be a chink of light for the capital club.

According to Portuguese daily Record, Bruma wants to see his current €30,000 per year wage head up to the €1m mark, in recognition of his success and development.

While a big increase may be a concern for cash-strapped Sporting Lisbon, it could also seem them able to resist his departure this summer.
