Real Madrid are ready to throw Gonzalo Higuain into a package to buy Luis Suarez from Liverpool, according to Sky Italia.

Arsenal have been pushing to sign Higuain from Los Blancos, with the player’s father recently insisting his son had permission to open talks with the Gunners.

However, Real Madrid put a stop to the switch, increasing Higuain’s asking price, while new boss Carlo Ancelotti has been keen to hold talks with the striker.

Now the Spanish giants, who are thought to value Higuain at €40m, are ready to offer the Argentina international plus cash for Suarez.

The Uruguayan is desperate to leave Liverpool, having repeated his wish over the summer.

At first Suarez blamed the British media for portraying him in an unfair light, but of late the forward has concluded Liverpool cannot match his ambitions within the game.

Now Real Madrid will try to bring down the cash sum needed for Suarez by offering Higuain in part-exchange. However, it is not clear whether the striker would accept a move to Anfield, with no European football on Merseyside next season.

To further complicate the situation, Higuain’s suitors Arsenal have also bid for Suarez, seeing one offer rejected, while they are tipped to return with an improved bid. Higuain is an option for Napoli too, as they seek to replace Edinson Cavani.
