Saint-Etienne defensive starlet Kurt Zouma admits there has been much interest in his services this summer, but stresses his priority is to remain with Les Verts.

Zouma, who starred for France’s Under-20s at the recent Under-20 World Cup the country won in Turkey, has seen himself linked with a veritable who’s who of European football.

Manchester United and Liverpool were specifically mentioned as suitors by Zouma’s agent, while sides such as Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle, Cardiff and Wolfsburg are also understood to be fans of the Frenchman’s talents.

But even though Zouma knows he is a wanted man, he is not ready to exit Saint-Etienne just yet and is relishing the new Ligue 1 campaign.

"There has been a lot of noise around a transfer for me this summer", the 18-year-old told Le Progres.

"I can only say one thing: I am sure that I will be at Saint-Etienne this season, that’s for sure."

Zouma, who has been eased into Saint-Etienne’s first team by coach Christophe Galtier, is expected to feature much more regularly over the coming campaign.

Saint-Etienne finished fifth last term and won the Coupe de la Ligue.
