Torino could be beaten by English outfit QPR in the race to snap up left-sided Saint-Etienne star Faouzi Ghoulam.

The Algerian has been firmly on Torino's radar and they had been confident of completing a deal for the 22-year-old.

However, Ghoulam began to stall the deal, with some interest coming from English Premier League heavyweights Liverpool.

Now though it is QPR who are pushing to beat Torino to Ghoulam, with the player's agent having flown to London to hold discussions with the Championship side, according to Sky Italia.

Ghoulam graduated from Saint-Etienne's youth academy to make his breakthrough into the club's senior ranks in 2010.

Last season the Algerian helped Les Verts to win the Coupe de la Ligue, while he is under contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2016.

Born in France, Ghoulam represented the country at youth level internationally before opting to turn out for Algeria at senior level.

He has so far won three caps for the Foxes.
