The agent of in-demand Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya has dropped a clear hint that his client may quit the Camp Nou in January.

Montoya's contract with the Spanish champions is due to end in 2014 and talks are set to be held with the defender over extending that. But Jose Maria Orobitg is not at all optimistic, given the fact that his client is receiving so little playing time in Catalunya.

"We don't exactly know what the club's plans are", Montoya's representative explained to Fichajes.

"We haven't talked to them. They've first extended the contracts of [Cristian] Tello and [Sergio] Busquets. Now it is Martin's turn.

"We'll see if we can reach an agreement, but it is difficult because he is not playing."

Montoya will not be short of suitors if he does decide his future is not at Barcelona, with Orobitg well aware of the fact. Indeed the player's agent has already identified Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Napoli and Inter as all wanting his client.

And Orobitg is clearly holding the door open for a potential departure, remarking: "When things do not change between now and January, I dare not say what will happen."

Montoya is in a difficult position at the Camp Nou, with Dani Alves blocking his preferred slot.

The 22-year-old is a product of Barcelona's esteemed youth academy. He has represented Spain at Under-17 level through to the Under-23 ranks, while also winning two senior caps for Catalunya.
