Emmanuel Adebayor's banishment from Tottenham Hotspur's first team appears to have come to an end, with the striker yesterday revealing he was back in the fold.

Adebayor had been sent to train with the development squad by manager Andre Villas-Boas, this after returning from an extended compassionate leave.

The 29-year-old's brother passed away in Togo earlier this month, but Adebayor was still subject to loan speculation during time off with Queens Park Rangers tagged on.

Clubs such as Schalke and Besiktas had been linked with summer moves, but he ended up staying at Tottenham though he is yet to make an appearance this season.

Regardless, Adebayor expressed his delight at the reinstatement, tweeting: "Hey guys, today was my first day back training with the first team. Good to be back and feeling good!"

Adebayor's Tottenham career so far has been fairly productive with 22 league goals in 58 games, though he is likely to be put on the sale list in the winter.

With Spurs spending freely on attacking players this summer, Adebayor is believed to have been deemed surplus to requirements.
