Manchester City right-back Micah Richards has denied persistent speculation that he could leave the club.

Richards has seen himself linked with Newcastle United, while from Italy there has been interest from Inter and Roma. But speaking to BT Sport Live, the broadcaster's nightly news and information show, the defender insisted that he remains in Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini's plans.

The right-back said: "I did say at the start of the season I wanted to see the manager's plans and I'm in his plans as he's said all along so we'll see what the future holds but I'm happy at Manchester City.

"It was a big decision for the manager to play me in the Bayern Munich game after only playing one game previously in the cup against Wigan so it shows massive confidence in me."

And Richards feels that now he is fully fit the time has come to showcase his abilities and show Pellegrini what he is capable of.

"I've been here since I was 14, it's a club I love. Before I got my injuries, I was number 1 choice, it's only because I got injuries and Pablo Zabaleta's done so well, I find myself not playing as regular. I'm fully fit now and I'm ready to show everyone what I can do."

Manchester City are next in action this weekend when they travel to face West Ham in a Premier League clash on Saturday.

Watch Micah Richards' full interview on BT Sport Live, the broadcaster’s nightly news and information show, at 7pm tonight on BT Sport 1.
