Turkish giants Besiktas have thrown their hat into the ring in the race to sign Juventus playmaker Andrea Pirlo.

The veteran pass-master has yet to extend a contract which expires next summer in Turin and already he is being linked with making a move elsewhere.

Former Italy international and Chelsea manager Gianluca Vialli has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur want to bag Pirlo's services, while within Serie A, Inter have been linked with stealing away the Azzurri playmaker.

But now, according to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Besiktas want to tempt Pirlo to sample the delights of Istanbul next term.

The Black Eagles are prepared to reward the 34-year-old with a contract worth €2.2m per year.

It remains to be seen if Pirlo will be tempted by Besiktas, especially with Juventus thought to be preparing their own contract offer to see him stay safely in Turin, despite an initial difference between the expectations of the two parties.

Having joined Juventus from AC Milan in 2011, Pirlo has helped Antonio Conte's men win the last two Serie A titles.
