Barcelona are cool on sending Cristian Tello out on loan for the second half of the season, according to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo.

It has been suggested within Spain that Liverpool have all but done a deal to take the speedy winger on loan from January, with the Reds firm fans of Tello.

Indeed, Tello even revealed earlier this year that Liverpool were willing to roll the red carpet out for him had he chosen not to sign a new contract at the Camp Nou.

Valencia are another side to have been linked with the 22-year-old, who has admitted some unease at a lack of playing time with the Catalans.

But according to El Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have no intention of allowing Tello to leave the club next month.

Coach Gerardo Martino is keen to keep hold of the winger, even if that is merely as a back-up option, with a more final decision over his future being taken next summer.

Tello has made ten appearances in La Liga for Barcelona this season, although eight of those have come from the bench.
