Paris Saint-Germain have taken their first steps towards signing Auxerre striker Paul-Georges Ntep, treading carefully with the knowledge that the starlet is wanted by a number of clubs, including Arsenal.

Ntep has been in fine form for Auxerre in Ligue 2 this season, living up to the hype which has surrounded him and being the cause of a great number of scouts booking passage to the Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps.

PSG have sounded Auxerre out about signing Ntep and have let the Ligue 2 side know they are determined to pull out all the stops to bag the starlet.

No bid has been made to avoid sparking a transfer war ahead of time between clubs interested in Ntep, but PSG are standing ready to swoop in for the starlet.

Should either Jeremy Menez or Javier Pastore leave the Parc des Princes in January, PSG will make a move for Ntep.

However, if the pair stay, a move could be put on ice until the summer.
