Paris Saint-Germain are planning a €70m raid for Juventus' in-demand midfielder Paul Pogba, even after persistent talk of a contract renewal.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG will not give up on the Frenchman despite being "politely turned down" earlier this month by Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta.

Pogba's followers include the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United, both with considerable transfer kitties.

However, with his potential release clause expected to match that of PSG summer signing Edinson Cavani, the Ligue 1 champions could find themselves leading that race.

Indeed, they were the only ones to eventually fork out €64.5m for Cavani to bring him over from Napoli.

And PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is understood to be in conversations over Pogba, who is under contract with the Old Lady until 2016.

PSG were previously ready to offer Pogba €7m in annual wages, which at the time backed up Juventus president Andrea Agnelli's opinion on future bids.

"Italian football can not afford a salary of five or six million", Agnelli said last month. "In the future it will be difficult to keep him."
