PSV Eindhoven are close to offloading striker Tim Matavz in a big-money deal to Russian side Rubin Kazan.

According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, Matavz has been allowed to leave the club this winter, having arrived from FC Groningen in the summer of 2011.

The Slovenia international's agent had last summer indicated a change was likely given his lack of first-team opportunities.

And Rubin Kazan are all set to snap him up with the Russian transfer window still a few weeks from closing.

Matavz's agent Henk van Ginkel was quoted as saying: "The clubs should try to get an agreement out in terms of salary.

"I do not foresee any problems. In, Netherlands there is no club [that can offer against] what Rubin Kazan can. I hope this comes around."

The Rubin Kazan deal should happen despite rumoured attention from Malaga as well. Matavz's time at PSV has seen him make 96 appearances in total with 44 goals.
