Alen Halilovic could find himself playing for Barcelona from next season after his Dinamo Zagreb president confirmed talks were under way for a transfer.

Halilovic had last year been contacted by Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund, while Barcelona had themselves seen an initial bid knocked back.

Halilovic has been a senior player at Dinamo for just over a year now, with the 17-year-old tipped for a bright future both domestically and on the international stage.

The talented attacking midfielder has already made appearances in Croatia's youth ranks and for the senior side, while he has clocked in with 14 league games this season.

Halilovic, also linked with CSKA Moscow, is being tracked by Arsenal as well, though the Gunners could miss out as president Mirko Barisic was quoted by Croatian daily Jutarnji as saying: "Executive chairman Zdravko Mamic is in contact with Barcelona representatives.

"We at Dinamo want all parties to be satisfied with this transfer.

"Nobody has any guarantee when it comes to the first team of Barcelona. But surely he must safely play in the second team."
