Juventus have lodged an enquiry about the availability of Cagliari striker Victor Ibarbo.

The Colombian international is set to become the subject of a transfer scramble this summer, despite having attempted to dampen speculation around his future by expressing his happiness at the Rossoblu.

Ibarbo has been linked with Leeds United, with Cagliari's owner Massimo Cellino now in control at Elland Road. The Colombian has been mooted as a priority signing at Leeds for Cellino, however the Yorkshire giants look to be bundled out of the race.

Indeed, according to Italian daily Tuttosport, Juventus have made a concrete move towards snapping up Ibarbo, asking about his availability.

Cagliari are also anticipating an increase in interest in Ibarbo when the World Cup kicks off, with the striker expected to impress with Colombia.

Rossoblu sporting director Nicola Salerno said earlier this month: "In a month there will be several enquiries for him, maybe even internationally.

"He is a strong player and important."
