Swansea City have reached an agreement with Standard Liege over the transfer of highly-rated striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Belgian daily Le Soir.

Batshuayi, who was a surprise omission from Marc Wilmots' Belgium squad for the World Cup, has attracted attention from a number of clubs over the course of the season due to his goalscoring feats in the Jupiler League.

He has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham, and admitted his admiration for the former when revealing he is poised to quit Standard Liege this summer.

The striker said in March: "I'm interested in the German and English leagues. They are physical and technical leagues.

"Personally, I like Arsenal.

"There is a good philosophy that the club have, where they trust in young people.

"They are a very technical team who play good football. Since I was little, I've liked the team."

Batshuayi has a clause of around €8m in his contract with Standard Liege, but it is understood Swansea could pay more than that amount. The Welsh side tested the water with a €3m bid last summer, but were rebuffed.

The ball is now in Batshuayi's court over whether he wishes to move to the Liberty Stadium.
