Leeds United are putting the wheels in motion to sign Swiss defender Jonathan Rossini from Sassuolo.

The Yorkshire club's owner Massimo Cellino has admitted his interest in Rossini and, according to Tutto Mercato, tomorrow a meeting will be held between Leeds, Sassuolo and the player's representative.

On the table will be a season-long loan deal with an option for Leeds to purchase Rossini on a permanent basis should he impress at Elland Road.

Leeds have just secured goalkeeper Marco Silvestri and midfielder Tommaso Bianchi, on four-year and three-year deals respectively, but are not stopping their shopping spree.

The Championship club did generate funds earlier today by selling striker Ross McCormack to Fulham.

Cellino's side are thought to have pocketed around £11m for the striker, who top scored in the Championship last season.

The Italian has accused McCormack of disrespecting him and insisted he had no choice but to sell the Scot.
