Roma coach Rudi Garcia has told Manchester United that they will have to offer €100m for the Giallorossi to even think about selling Kevin Strootman.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal revealed recently that he will be watching Strootman's return from a serious knee injury with great interest, amid speculation the Netherlands boss would like to have the man he coached at international level at Old Trafford.

With Strootman still some way off a return, a January transfer may be likelier than a switch this summer. But Garcia has wasted no time in sending out a warning to the Red Devils, with a message about how desperate the Italian side are to keep hold of the former PSV Eindhoven star.

"Kevin is on the road to full fitness", Garcia was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur.

"A possible transfer to Manchester United? For a bid of more than €100m we can talk about it and there will be time to think about it."

Roma splashed out €20m to capture Strootman from PSV just last summer and he instantly made a positive impact in Serie A.

However, in the latter half of last season he picked up a serious knee injury, something which kept him out of the World Cup.
