Roma president James Pallotta has categorically ruled out the sale of striker Mattia Destro before the transfer window closes.

Destro has been linked with a number of clubs, including AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, while his agent recently revealed Chelsea are keen on signing the Italy international, commenting: "It's true that Chelsea are interested in Mattia."

But Roma do not want to lose Destro, who they view as a vital part of their attack as they bid to once again push for the Serie A title this term, along with turning out in the Champions League.

And Pallotta has made the club's position crystal clear, stating that the 23-year-old will not leave.

Speaking to reporters he said: "There are no talks [over Destro].
