Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff has admitted it would be wise of Lukas Podolski to consider his situation at Arsenal.

Podolski is struggling to command a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium and was linked with both Juventus and Galatasaray over the course of the summer transfer window.

The forward has admitted he is less than happy kicking his heels, but insists he has not asked to leave Arsenal.

Bierhoff, a former striker who now acts as the team manager with the Germany national side, believes Podolski must give serious consideration to his position at Arsenal in light of a lack of playing time.

Speaking to German news agency DPA, he said: "I would advise him to think about his club situation and to have a talk with his manager.

At international level the 29-year-old has won 118 caps for Germany, scoring 47 goals, and also helped the country win the World Cup earlier this summer.
