Young Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah has said that though he is pleased to know that Manchester City are scouting him, he is happy at Cagliari for the moment.

The 18-year-old’s performances for Gianfranco Zola’s men in Serie A have caught the attention of some top clubs and he is generating interest from across Europe, especially England.

Tottenham Hotspur have been watching the player’s progress in Italy for some time and are believed to be plotting a summer move for the young midfielder.

However, it emerged recently that Manchester City's scouts have also been keeping a close eye on the player and the club are ready to provide stiff competition to Spurs for Donsah if he becomes available in the summer.

The youngster is delighted that he has caught the imagination of the English champions, but said that he feels good at Cagliari and is not thinking about a transfer for the moment.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, Donsah said: “I am being targeted by Manchester City? Of course, I am happy.

“But I feel good at Cagliari and we are doing very well for the moment.”

Donsah was plucked from his native Ghana by Palermo in 2012 and, following a loan stint with Hellas Verona last term, landed at Cagliari.
